RFID
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
What is it?
RFID technology is a system that uses radio frequency for product identification. It uses radio waves to communicate with a chip embedded in the tire during manufacturing, meaning it cannot be replaced or exchanged. The RFID chip is used to assign each tire a unique and irreplaceable identifier.
How do I read the RFID on my tires?
You only need a radio frequency scanner which, when used, will give you access only to the tire’s identifier. Using our system, you can retrieve all the information linked to the scanned tire’s RFID.
What are the advantages of RFID?
  • Security: Once inserted into the tire, the tire’s identifier cannot be changed, and the tag cannot be deactivated without damaging the tire. Therefore, it is impossible to deactivate RFID. This technology is robust in combating theft and counterfeiting.
  • Durability: Thanks to the information provided by RFID technology, your dealer can improve the maintenance of your tires and better manage when they need to be replaced. In addition, since the technology is embedded inside the tire, it is highly reliable and does not deteriorate easily.
  • Inventory: Tires with this integrated technology facilitate inventory registration and speed up its review. In a warehouse, RFID tags provide a precise and secure method for recording each and every product and maintaining strict inventory control.
  • Location: Although RFID does not integrate a GPS chip, the system allows you to keep a record of which unit and position the tire is located in. This information can only be updated by personnel who have both the scanner and system access.
